Sedikit cerita tentang lagu ini:

Awal menulis lagu ini, gue gak langsung nulis liriknya sekaligus, karena pada saat itu, dan berkali-kali gue mencoba setelahnya, gue selalu gagal nemu lirik yang pas. Barulah sekitar setahun kemudian, akhirnya jadi lirik seperti yang sekarang. Ini pun pada awalnya gue sendiri gak begitu ngerti maksud atau makna dari lirik yang gue tulis sendiri, karena pada saat itu gue seolah desperate dan pengen lagu ini cepet jadi biar bisa langsung rekaman. Jadi lirik yang gue tulis terkesan asal ngepas aja sama jumlah suku kata yang gue sediain dalam 1 bait. Sampe sekarang pun gue gak terlalu yakin sama interpretasi gue sendiri atas liriknya, aneh memang :|

Sedikit cerita tentang lagu ini:

Gue agak jarang bisa berhasil nulis lagu berlirik bahasa Indonesia, entah kenapa gue lebih nyaman menyair dalam bahasa Inggris. Mungkin karena gue anggap variasi kata dan grammar bahasa Inggris lebih seru untuk disusun, atau bahasa Inggris lebih irit pelafalan suku kata, (contoh: 'Dimana' dan 'Where' atau 'Cinta' dan 'Love') yaa jadi gue bisa lebih puas bercerita lebih banyak dalam 1 bait syair gue. Sering ketika gue menemukan nada terus gue coba tulis liriknya dalam bahasa Indonesia, gue gagal dan akhirnya gue tulis liriknya dalam bahasa Inggris. Ketika pun gue berhasil nulis syair dalam bahasa Indonesia, kebanyakan syairnya akan jadi biasa-biasa aja, kayak lirik lagu ini. Dan dalam hati gue bakal selalu merasa liriknya terdengar aneh di kuping.

Anyway, gue agak bereksperimen sama aransemen lagu ini, awalnya gue berniat untuk bikin lagu ini as simple as plain accoustic. Tapi karena jadinya gak greget, dan gue berhasrat pengen denger sesuatu yang baru-seenggaknya baru bagi kuping gue sendiri-akhirnya mulai lah gue bereksperimen suara. Berbagai macam efek gue coba, banyak instrumen yang gue coba dan gagal, beberapa teknik baru gue coba, setelah 2 hari meras otak lalu voila! Akhirnya gue menemukan aransemen yang menurut gue pas. Gue terinspirasi sama suara-suara latar "Space Ambiance"-nya Angels & Airwaves, makanya gue selalu mencoba 'men-genre-i' lagu ini "Space-coustic", terutama ketika ada teman yang bertanya.

Lagu ini diciptakan dan dinyanyikan oleh sahabat gue, 12th Bridge awalnya pengen dijadiin side project kami berdua, sebelum akhirnya dia harus kerja di luar kota. Anggap aja lagu ini sebagai cameo-nya.


Soal konsep lagunya, emang mau sengaja dibikin yang keep it simple. Liriknya...temen gue ini ngefans sama salah satu personil dari girl band yang cukup terkenal di Indonesia, jadi ceritanya lagu ini tribute for her. Yah, pasti ketebak lah siapa, haha

Sedikit cerita tentang lagunya:

Aslinya lagu ini gue ciptain buat sahabat gue. Gue terinspirasi dari situasi dia pada waktu itu yang lagi galau karena, hubungan pacaran yang udah dia jalani dari SMA akhirnya sampai pada satu titik dimana-saat ini-mereka sudah sama-sama dewasa, dan sama-sama merasa bahwa hal yang dulu terlihat sangat jauh sekarang sudah ada di depan mata. Namun keadaan belum terasa ideal karena potongan-potongan kehidupan belum terpasang rapih pada tempatnya. Tapi setidaknya situasi tersebut ngebuat dia jadi tersadar, dan setingkat lebih dewasa dibanding temen-temennya yang lain termasuk gue.

Anyway, soal musiknya, model musik begini bisa dibilang sebagai "zona nyaman" gue dalam bermusik. Musik yang gue denger dari SMP dan yang sekarang gue jadiin sebagai referensi gue dalam bermusik kebanyakan beraliran Rock. So yeah, this is my bread and butter :)

Sedikit cerita tentang lagunya:

Gue punya kenalan seorang pria yang udah tua, dia hidup sebatang kara, pernah berkeluarga namun bercerai sebelum sempat punya keturunan, sekarang keluarga sedarah yang dia punya hanya kakak-kakaknya, namun mereka terpisah jarak ratusan kilometer jauhnya, ditambah usia yang sudah tua membuat perpisahan selamanya seolah dapat terjadi setiap saat. Ketika pertama gue denger kisahnya gue tersentuh, gue ngebayangin gimana rasanya jadi dia. Apa dia marah terhadap dirinya sendiri? Apa dulu dia pernah ngebayang atau bahkan meminta masa tua seperti ini? Apa dia menyesal? Seolah-olah saat ini hal yang dia miliki cuma dirinya dan pikirannya (memory-nya), yang isinya-seandainya itu hidup gue-akan penuh dengan rasa marah dan penyesalan. Moral story-nya mungkin jadi: "jangan sia-siakan masa muda, jangan sia-siakan hidupmu".

Soal musiknya, gue bereksperimen dengan gabungin elemen musik Melayu dengan genre Rock. Ditambah "Orkestra-Mini" ala gue yang ngebuat aroma Melayu jadi makin kental. Yaa menurut gue hasilnya cukup unik...atau lucu, tergantung selera lo :)
